Plum Hill Garden on Youtube

A few years ago we started investing more time into growing a variety of plants for our pollinator garden, and a selection of trees we love. I keep a gardening journal in a spreadsheet here. In Spring of 2025 I started experimenting with seed starting in my little window ledge hydroponic growers (LetPot & Aerogarden) as well as seed cells and 4″ pots. I’ve learned a lot about cold stratification of seeds, sifting soil so it’s easier for seeds to germinate, and realizing I need to invest in heat mats and grow lights if I want to have the best results in future.

I also have started doing seasonal walk throughs of our property to document the maturity and progress (and failures!). I also like posting little shorts as I notice fun things around the garden. Visit and subscribe to my Plum Hill YouTube channel to get those updates.

Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is arranging cut flowers from my garden into bouquets. I’ve been watching lots of gardening channels on youtube (aka youtube garden university!) and came across a few flower farmers. Here’s my first attempts with two batchs of my tulips, along with spanish bluebells, parsley (the only greens tall enough this time of year) and some bittercress (yes, I know it’s a weed).

The biggest first flush of tulips.
The second bouquet using the last of the smaller tulips after they had been rained on.
