My five favourite colours combined are teal/turquoise (aka bluey green), red, orange, purple, and pink. They are happy, vibrant, and create a cozy homey boho feel when combined. These five colours are repeated all throughout my home and deck in varying shades.
I want to carry a repeat of these colours throughout my garden too with an occasional white for contrast – to mimic how all our walls and house siding are white.
Right now in our first completed arch bed in the Plum Garden we have planted high wire flying climbing rose (pink), Russian sage (purple & excellent companion plant to roses), mango popsicle hot pokers (orange), and Joseph’s coat climbing rose (orange, red, & pink). Bluey green is going to be more challenging to find in flowers, so that will likely be more of a foliage colour. There’s a buddleia butterfly bush just past the arch that has those hues in its greenery. I can also add orange, red, and purple foliage in other areas of the garden when needed.
Our pollinator garden is coming to life! It’s loaded with bees, dragonflies, hummingbirds, and many kinds of butterflies and moths. The most exciting has been the giant swallowtail butterflies. Here’s a couple of Mr. B’s pollinator encounters on Father’s Day: https://youtube.com/shorts/8uxci2Jzi-A?si=qri3S1rxCMXDdcS-
